Evangelos Koutras was born in 1974, in Volos, Greece.

Martial Arts Academy. He has a Degree in Physical Education and Sports from the Aristoteleio University of Thessaloniki and a Post Graduate Degree in Hygiene and Safety in Workplaces from the Medical School of the Thrace University. He is the holder of a Black Belt 2nd degree in Tae Kwon Do, Black Belt 3rd degree in Okinawa Karate and a certified by the Ministry of Sports and Education Pankratiast rank 6.

He is also a certified and licenced by the Greek Ministry of Sports and Education Pankration Athlima Trainer and Judo Trainer and holder of a Black belt in Judo.

As an athlete, he is a four times champion at Okinawa karate and the Pagration champion from 1995 to 2000.

He was the European champion in 1999 at the tournament that was held in Lamia, Greece while he took the third place at the tournament that was held in Israel, in 2000. In 2000 he ranked fourth at the individual and second at the team games with the National Greek Team. He served in the Greek Army as a Reserve Sub Lieutenant of the Armored Corps.

He is married to the Physical Education teacher Georgia Chatzigeorgiou and he is the father of three children.
